Pentagon: How to qualify for the Super World Series
Text Box: March 1: Added Hotel information for Taft Park.
February 29: I made a mistake on the schedule. I had to change the date of the Co-ed State Championship to Aug 16. Sorry.
February 9: I have added the ability for you to pay by Credit Card on the left. You can get there directly from the schedule as well.
February 8:We have acquired a very nice prize pkg for the E NIT. Click on June 14 to the right for details.
February 6: There seems to be some confusion over what you get when you win a tournament. In the next couple of days I will be putting a link to a sheet for each tournament that should help you figure out what you want to do regarding the NSA. Click on the tournament date for help. Here is a link for you to determine how to qualify for the various tournaments.
January 27: Please look at our schedule again as it has changed and the prices have been reduced.
For World Series Qualifiers: the first place winner will receive $25 for each team entered; second place will receive $15 for each team entered. The money will be paid after you have completed your first game in the Regional or World Series.
January 24: Some questions have been raised about the cost of the tournaments. Please notice on the Qualifiers that you are guaranteed 3 games in each tournament.
We will be "Hitting your own" ball this year. I will have balls available at the tournaments for sale. Also, you are not required to start a game with a new ball. In the qualifiers you can hit 44.525. In the other tournaments we will need to use the 44.400. I will have both for sale. The Women will use the 44/525, 11 inch.
I am interested if there are any teams interested in playing in a 16" tournament after a 12" tournament. If you play in the 12" tournament the 16" tournament would be free. I will supply the umpires and the balls. As you finish the 12" tournament we will start the 16" tournament. Open bats, no HR rule, no gloves. I thought we might use this as an experiment to see how you like it. Please e-mail me with your thoughts.
January 17: Just in case you have not heard yet, the team with the most number of points, in a class, in the State, on September 1, will get a SWS bid if they have played in 5 tournaments, one of which has to be the State Tournament. This bid does not have to be validated. Let me know if you have questions.
January 16: I have posted a new schedule. We had to make some changes do to schedule conflicts. I hope this works for everyone. The schedule link is on the left.
December 28: Hi everyone the schedule for 2008 for Minnesota/Wisconsin has been posted. Please click on the link on the left to see the dates. We will have a full range of tournaments for you up to the World Series. If you have any questions please send me an e-mail, or give me a call.
Hi, my name is Jim Valentine. I have been the State Director for Adult Slow Pitch Softball in Wisconsin for the past three years. Effective October 7, I have been appointed Minnesota State Director for Adult Softball, Youth Fast Pitch Softball for Girls, and the Baseball Player's Association. I have two goals while I am the Minnesota State Director: 1) Build the NSA program in the State, and, 2) Find State Directors to assume these positions from the State of Minnesota.
For those of you who know me, you know I am a softball guy. I played the game for 10 years, then I went to umpiring for 20 years and I have been a State Director for 3 years. I love the game and I became the State Director so that I can give back to the game. The National Softball Association's motto is that we are "The Players' Association" and I try to remember that in everything I do. I know that you, the ballplayers, are the customer and I will do everything I can to make softball enjoyable for you.
Teams can register in the NSA starting January 1, 2008. The tournament schedule will be up at that time.
I am open to suggestions and ideas. If you ever have any questions, or you would like to talk softball, you can write me at  MinnesotaNSA@gmail.com or give me a call at (262) 862-7165. My cell phone number is (262) 492-1116. You can access this site by going to www.WisconsinNSA.com and click on Minnesota or you can go to www.NSANorth.com and click on Minnesota.
